The 2017 PNE Prize Home

An Exceptional Home Showcasing the Best in BC Home Building

The PNE Prize Home Lottery has a longstanding history and reputation in British Columbia, and beyond. Once again, Freeport is thrilled to be the builder of the Prize Home. For more information on the lottery visit PNE.CA.

The First PNE Prize Home Winner

The PNE Prize Home lottery has come a long way since the early days. The first lottery was held in 1934, and the lucky winner was a young man named Leonard Frewin. Leonard, a young mechanic from Vancouver, wanted to get married, but, unfortunately, the father of his bride-to-be would not consent to the marriage, because Leonard had poor prospects and could not offer his future wife a home.

On his way home from work that day, Leonard bought a ticket for 25 cents. And yes, fate and fortune smiled down on him, granting him and his future wife a house that would be their home for the next 60 years.

Here at Freeport, we find this story wholly inspiring. We LOVE that the homes we build will be a part of someone’s story. And with the PNE Prize Home Lottery, the idea of a happy couple or family making memories inside this year’s home makes constructing these custom builds extra special.

This year, we built a 3,100 square foot home that is a West Coast modern design. It has three bedrooms and 2.5 baths, vaulted ceilings, a spacious entertainment lounge and home theatre room. And it comes fully furnished with the latest appliances supplied by Lane Home Furnishings and Coast Appliances.

“Freeport has worked with the PNE and the Prize Home Lottery for the past two years and it is an honour to be back again for 2017,” said Todd Venier, president of Freeport Industries. “When designing this home, we married green and energy efficient materials with a beautiful interior and exterior. It’s perfect for any family and is a true entertainer’s home.”

And although the house is built with the highest standards and top quality materials, and the fixtures, fittings and furniture are high-end, it is the stories of the people who live in Freeport homes that make these houses rich with life and love.

We can’t wait to find out who fate and fortune will smile upon with this year’s home. We know incredible memories will be made in this beautiful home and setting. After all, the Naramata bench is in the heart of Okanagan wine country; a prime location close to beaches, lakes and miles of wineries and vineyards.
