Freeport Industries was founded in 2004 by Todd Venier, who set out to raise the standard for factory-built housing in Western Canada. Drawing on over a decade of experience in the modular construction industry—including a major role in delivering a 295-unit community in Nanaimo for Retire West Communities Ltd.—Todd opened Freeport’s first manufacturing facility in Parksville, BC, with a vision: to build premium modular homes that blend quality craftsmanship with innovative design.

In 2006, Chris Inkster joined Freeport as Estimator and Quality Control Manager, bringing a meticulous eye for detail and a passion for operational excellence. Just one year later, Freeport expanded into the Okanagan, opening a second facility in West Kelowna to support the development of Sage Creek—a 46-acre land lease community that would set a new benchmark for modular living.

Since then, Freeport has grown into a trusted leader in modular construction, known for creating high-quality, affordable communities that challenge outdated stereotypes of trailer parks. Our projects are thoughtfully designed, sustainably built, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of today’s homeowners and developers across British Columbia.
