51 Unit Four storey building BC Housing project awarded to Freeport Industries

Freeport Industries Awarded BC Housing Development Project

Freeport Industries is proud to have been chosen as the prime developer for a new 51-unit BC Housing project in Kelowna, BC. The four-story building will be the first of many new BC Housing projects that are aimed at providing supportive housing options for homeless people in the Okanagan.

BC Housing chose Freeport after an extensive vetting process that included bids from vendors across British Columbia.

“We are excited to have been chosen by the BC Housing Society for this important project,” says Chris Inkster, President of Freeport Industries. “Modular construction offers an ideal solution for the development of much-needed social housing throughout BC and the Okanagan.

“Because we can build the entire facility off-site and assemble it all at once, Freeport can reduce building time significantly and help BC Housing and the John Howard Society get up and running much quicker than traditional construction methods would take.”

The four-story, 51-unit building is scheduled to open in the summer of 2020.
